Our Story
Spatial was founded by university students in Singapore. For us, studying and working outside had always been a more productive session. Studying time at Starbucks, libraries or even fast-food chains had been very stressful; not that schoolwork is difficult but because we had to hunt for seats, power plugs and even ration our drinks so that our seats remain reserved.
As undergraduates, we supplemented our university expenditures by providing tuition but we realised that we were often limited to just one student. This provoked having a classroom to enrol more students to raise our income further. However, there are rarely any flexible classrooms available for our tutoring situation and most required us to lock in with hefty deposits, not to mention a legal contract in the worst case. Hence, we decided to create for tutors out there in need of a conducive space.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we were exposed to work from home arrangements through our internships. It was difficult to ensure a clear segregation between work and personal life, even more so when our family members are also nestled in the same space at home causing both disruptions and distractions. We felt that a coworking space was the right place to camp at to get our work done. These reasons propelled us to create a space to synergise the three unmet needs, and Spatial was conceptualised.
